HOW TO TRANSPOSE THE BACKING TRACKS

SKALE TRACKER & FAST TRACKER

Here I'll give you the info on how to transpose and delete instruments on Skale Tracker and Fast Tracker. I don't know where to find Fast Tracker nowadays, but Skale Tracker can be found on www.skale.org. I originally made all my backing tracks on Fast Tracker, but Skale Tracker is newer and Windows-based. Aside from a few bugs, it's identical to Fast Tracker, of which I don't think I'd be able to get any screen shots. Anyway, the buttons are pretty much in the same places, so I'm sure you can manage with these instructions even if your tracker of choice is Fast Tracker.

Firstly, install and run Skale Tracker. This is how it looks:

Click on Disk Options (1) to open a music file. NOTE: Make sure that Module is selected on the left hand menu (3). I trust that you can figure this one out.

After you've opened the file, click Exit Menu to get back to the normal mode.

Now click Instr. Edit (2) to open the Instrument Editor:

Choose the instrument to edit from the instrument list (5). Each instrument has its own sample bank, and the bank of the current instrument can be seen on the sample list (6). Choose the sample you want to edit.

Use the Octave and semi-tone adjusters (6) to change the tuning of the current sample.

After you're done editing, save your module in the Disk Options window.

When you click Save in the Disk Options window, Skale gives you a few options:

If you want to stick to the XM-format, choose the XM format (8). You can also convert the file to WAV by choosing the WAV format (7).

There. I think this is what you were looking for.
